The Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TMSC), the world’s largest semi-conductor foundry, has improved the module efficiency of its CIGS thin-film PV module by 0.9 percent since September 2012, reaching 15.1 percent, as con- firmed by TuV SUD and UL. A company press release claims that TSMC’s TS CIGS Series modules deliver up to 5 percent additional energy yield over crystalline silicon modules in high-temperature regions.
