SOLARTODAY May 12, 2014
On May 31, 2014, from 10am to 4pm, you can tour some of the leading homes and businesses in the Twin Cities area and learn how they became the best energy savers on the block! Visit any or all of the eight sites that tackle the challenging combination of our cold winters and hot summers with smart design choices, cutting edge building techniques, and on-site renewable energy systems.
The limited edition EcoMetro guidebook provides you with each site address to plan your route, along with dazzling photos and a description of what’s to see at each location. This guidebook acts as your ticket onto each site and into each home, look for the MRES volunteer to know where to enter. For couples and groups, after you purchase at least one guidebook, other attendees can simply purchase a ticket to print off and bring as your proof of admission. Make sure each person in your group has at least one guidebook or one ticket in hand when you arrive at the sites! Children 12 and younger are free.
The families and businesses will be on-site the day of the tour to talk to you about how they have achieved various aspects of sustainability, lessons learned and help you figure out the next steps to take that will make your life, home and business more sustainable.
