Established in 1954, ASES is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that advocates for sustainable living and 100% renewable energy by sharing information, events and resources to cultivate community and power progress.

We integrate the perspectives of science, industry, policy and citizens. We believe knowledge and community are a powerful combination for change. Our members look to us to sustain the culture required to achieve a 100% renewable energy future.

Through our programs, Solar Today magazine, ASES National Solar Conferences, National Solar Tour, Zero Emissions Network (ZEN), ASES Webinar Series, Tiny Watts, and the ASES Online Community we engage individuals, businesses and partnering groups to advance these possibilities. We also help host and share current events from our partners and chapters.

Save the date for ASES’s 51st Annual National Solar Conference, SOLAR 2022: Energy Transition with Economic Justice, taking place June 21-24, 2022 in Albuquerque, NM at the University of New Mexico. ASES is excited to invite you to submit a proposal to the Call for Participation. Submissions will close on November 15, 2021.

Solar homes, businesses, farms, schools, electric vehicles and more were on display October 3-4 as the official weekend of the National Solar Tour. If you were not available to visit in-person events this weekend, check out the hundreds of virtual Solar Sites and Local Solar Tours online at These events will stay up through the end of 2021 to be a resource for everyone looking to go solar.

ASES acknowledges the systemic injustice that impacts Black and indigenous people and other people of color as we work together to ensure that our transition to a 100% renewable energy future is equitable, inclusive, and just.

ASES convened a Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) Task Force in October 2020 to enact this commitment and advance these values more broadly in the organization. Learn more about what ASES is doing to advance our JEDI commitment.
