The Emerging Young Professionals Forum will provide students and emerging professionals to gain knowledge from professionals, build networks, and obtain guidance for navigating early career challenges. This event attracts attendees from a diversity of professional backgrounds and represents the interdisciplinary nature of the renewable energy community. ASES is committed to furthering professional development of our student members and the emerging professional community through education and supportive networking.

    Maria is a sustainability and renewable energy professional who serves the rocky mountain region. She is passionate about creating diverse resilient communities that fit the needs of both the landscape and its inhabitants. She has a B.A in Environmental Sustainability and a B.A in Business Administration from Western Colorado University. She is a LEED Green Associate, EcoDistrictsAP, and Post landfill Action Network certified Zero Waste Lead. She also received the Alumni Award of Excellence from her University for her work to propel sustainability in her community. Maria has worked with the global leader in waste diversion, Terracycle, as a Zero Waste Consultant and with the second largest manufacturing company in America, Goodman, as a Sustainability and Energy Efficiency Lead for their multifamily and student housing division. She is the Co-Founder of a non-profit, Equitable Solar Solutions, that distributed solar panel donations to schools and low-income families while educating students on the trade of solar installation. She also works for a sustainability consulting and energy engineering firm. She helps commercial and multifamily developers and architects reduce their energy consumption through on-site renewable installations, energy modeling, commissioning, design review, and many other services centered around creating healthy, low polluting buildings. In her free time, she crafts pottery and enjoys cruising in her bio-fueled 1969 Chevelle.
