New Mexico is finally rolling out its Community Solar program this summer. If it is to be a tool for an equitable energy transition where the solar benefits get to the subscriber, community led and community owned community solar must be pursued. Industry experts from around the nation who have successfully launched subscriber owned facilities and cooperatives will share their insights and recommendations for NM. Energy sovereignty, being much larger than community solar, includes the public power movement and we’ll learn from an award-winning utility law insider about a society-wide solution to energy equity.
