Energy is on our minds these days. The cost of gasoline, our dependence on foreign oil, the cost of electricity and natural gas, climate change and global warming - these areas increasingly dominate the the news. We are all doing what we can to improve the situation and we encourage others to make the effort too.
The U.S. Government recently passed the 2007 Energy Bill, a mixed bag of CAFE standards, ethanol use requirements and energy efficiency guidelines for homes. This Bill is a start, but some very important items were deleted that would have made this a truly comprehensive effort. Read about what's in and what's out in the Hot Topic section below.

2007 Energy Bill - Win a little, lose a lot
"After a hard-fought battle on the political playing field, the renewable energy industries have suffered a setback. The Senate voted [December 13th] on an energy bill that left out the investment and production tax credits and a renewable portfolio standard (RPS), avoiding a Presidential veto but dramatically reducing the role of renewable in Congress' energy plan".
