FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Statement about the Solar Tax Credits
from Brad Collins, Executive Director of
the American Solar Energy Society:
BOULDER, CO - 9/26/08 - “The solar industry is at a crossroads right now. We urge U.S. House and Senate leaders to come together to extend the Solar Tax Credits without delay. With an economy on the brink, extending the Solar Tax Credits will send a powerful message to markets, investors, and consumers that solar energy will play a lead role in generating the green-collar jobs our economy needs to get back on track. Failure to reach a bipartisan compromise would put tens of thousands of jobs and billions in investment at risk. With Congress' bipartisan support, the Solar Tax Credits will help Americans combat skyrocketing energy costs, strengthen the economy, and tackle climate change.”
