Tour Description: On Sunday October 5th we will show our solar powered home, market garden and wood products business to the public. We have 3.5 killowatts of solar electric panels mounted on trackers and are tied to the grid on our business. We irrigate a 1 1/2 acre market garden and run 3 freezers and two refrigerators for this operation. This system also runs a warm room kiln which is a storage facility for the wood flooring and high value hardwoods we harvest locally from blow down and bug killed trees. We will also show the 1 killowatt solar electric system on our home which is a battery based system that is off the grid.
