An award for women in solar:
- To become more technically involved
- Not limited to a specific solar technology
- The nominee should show technical level of competence, technical accomplishment and/or outstanding educator, advocate, promoter, change agent, developer, facilitator related to solar
- Women who inspire young women to enter the sciences through educational activities or mentoring
- Must have made a significant contribution to the field
- Must have some working knowledge in a solar field
Nomination requirements:
The recipient of this award does not have to be a member of ASES, but a woman who has contributed significantly to the acceptance and advancement of women in solar by meeting one or more of the following criteria:
- Advocacy/ political
- Educational
- Technical
- Contractor
- Social change/developing nations
Example of types of recipients:
This award could go to someone like a science teacher. Someone who has taught classes, made strides and continue to do so, provided opportunities for girl or women students to work in the field. Another recipient could be someone that has an engineering degree that decided to teach. Someone that started and organization or foundation or has gotten a significant funding source.
