Fellows Nominating Procedure

ASES members may be recommended for Fellow grade status any time of year, but the deadline for 2008 nominations is January 5, 2008.  The guiding policy is as follows:

• Any member of ASES who has been a member for at least ten consecutive years and has served with distinction in the advancement of solar energy utilization by way of research, education, public service, and/or service to ASES, is eligible for nomination to the grade of Fellow of ASES.
• An eligible member may be nominated by three members (at least one of which shall be a Fellow) of ASES in good standing. Each of the nominators shall provide a one-page letter of support. Documentation that gives evidence of service with distinction is required. A Fellow member (other than a nominator) must second a nomination.  A list of current Fellows is on the back.
• Each nomination will be screened by the Fellow Member Screening Committee, which shall recommend potential Fellows to the Board for final approval.  Nominations shall be due to ASES Headquarters by January 7, 2008.  The Screening Committee recommendations shall be transmitted to ASES headquarters by February 1, 2008 for consideration by the Board at its spring meeting, February 8-10, 2008.
